Who are Central Co-op?

We’re more than a business. We're a co-op.

That means we're owned by our Members, the colleagues who work alongside us; plus, the hundreds of thousands of people who shop in our supermarkets and florists or are helped through our funeral services.

We’re an independent Co-operative Society, made up of lots of smaller societies over our history.

Central Co-op was created by the merger of the Anglia and Midlands Co-operative Societies, making us one of the largest independent retail co-operatives.

That means we’re different from The Co-op Group, but we’re guided by the same co-operative principles.

With our Support Centre based in Lichfield, we trade across 19 counties including East and West Midlands, Yorkshire, Suffolk, Norfolk, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire.

In a nutshell…

Being a co-operative makes us different. We’re Member-owned and Member-led, and invest our profits back into our local communities, through our community dividend fund, local classes, and events.

Whoever we are, whatever we do, every minute of every day we make a difference for our members, our customers and each other.
